Woodfield Waves pool opening update
Hello Woodfield Waves families! We ought to be finishing up our first week of practice now, but, well, you know ...
Some good news and some not-good, not-yet-bad news. The good news is that pools are now allowed to reopen per Gov. Kemp's latest order. The not-so-good is that pools are still limited to socially distanced groups, which at the moment rules out swim practices and gatherings.
Also not-yet-good news: the Woodfield pool isn't yet open, and there's no word yet on when it will be. The pool looks ready to go -- so very ready -- but like all public pools, it still requires an annual permit, and that can be a long process when dealing with the county's permitting system.
From Woodfield's HOA Facebook page:
"We are closely following State regulations around COVID-19 and how it impacts allowing facilities to open. We are also working closely with Sears Pool mgmt, our pool management company as to when the pool "could" open. As we are all aware, there are many items that must be adhered to in order to open, as we are aware of for the other businesses that are being allowed to re-open. THe HOA is also working with our Law Firm to ensure we are protecting the community and the HOA.
"As of right now, the pool is CLOSED and we DO NOT have a date as to when it will open. Even though it looks like the pool is ready for use, Fulton County has not issued any permits, and my understanding was this was part of the last Governors' declaration that kept public pools closed. Once that is removed, permits will need to be completed, and we do not know how long that will take.
"The HOA will work to keep the community updated as we get more information."
So, yes ... not ideal. I would still ask you to PLEASE REGISTER if your means allow it, and please let me know (here or at [email protected]) if you're interested in swimming but can't yet register.
Still hopeful we'll have something to celebrate this summer ... stay tuned. Write with any Qs.
