PLEASE READ & REPLY: Swim season is a GO, Woodfield Swim is TBD
Hey Woodfield families -- good news! ASA has decided to go forward with swim season this summer, and that means we have the POTENTIAL to go forward for another season of Woodfield Waves swimming.
There is a LOT that has to happen before we get into the water, though, and we have to start with this: will there be a Woodfield team for 2020?
At the moment, we have 23 swimmers registered. I've also heard from multiple people that they were waiting for this moment to sign up. We need to let ASA know by June 12 if we will have a team, and how many swimmers we will have on that team.
So real quick, even if you've already registered, fill out this simple two-question survey form to let me know if you're in or out (one response per family, please):

I will be working with the Woodfield board on details about how to proceed from here for practices and meets, but the simple truth is this: social distancing is the rule. With only 25 people allowed on the pool deck at any time, we would initially be rotating out swimmers (and probably coaches) during practices and meets.
I'm hopeful that the state of Georgia will raise that limit to 50 soon, but we'll have to wait on that.
Practices could begin as early as next week, and meets, whatever form they take, would begin in July. Again: I will treat any meet, even a "virtual" one, just like a "real" meet -- music, celebrating the kids, as much fun as we can legally have.
Please click here to read the ASA's report announcing the restart of swim season. It's long, but there's a lot of good info.
If we decide to go ahead, this will be a swim season unlike any we've ever had to deal with before, but I really hope you'll ride this one out with us. It'll be fun, promise.
Hit me with any questions, by replying to this email or at [email protected]. Much more from me over the next few days.
