Who's ready to swim?
Hey Woodfield families --
Who's ready to get back in the pool?
Good news: the state of Georgia is now permitting -- with appropriate social distancing -- gatherings of 50 people, as of June 16. That's the last hurdle we needed to clear to get things rolling at (almost) full speed. So we'll start up practices next week, with meet info TBD.
Much more info to come from me in the next few days, including the exact start date (probably later in the week next week, pending discussion with the Woodfield board and coordinating coaches). I'll also have details about swim lessons and info for noncompetitive swimmers.
IMPORTANT: If you haven't already registered at https://woodfieldwaves.swimtopia.com/, please do so immediately. We have well over 30 swimmers already registered, a great number, but more are always welcome. I need to get a comprehensive headcount so we can start to set up practices and prep for meets, whenever they'll be.
I'll host a Zoom parents' meeting next week to help walk everyone through plans and procedures for this year. Meantime, hit me with any questions by either replying to this email or contacting me at [email protected].
For now, start locating those swimsuits and goggles. It's almost go time!
-Jay
