Swim Team: Info on Meet & Greet, Parents' Zoom Meeting

Hello Woodfield Swim parents! Hope everyone is staying safe as we get closer to the season. Welcome to the first of MANY emails I’ll be sending this week to get everyone ready.

First off: if you haven’t yet registered your child to swim this year and you want to, please do so ASAP at https://woodfieldwaves.swimtopia.com/. We need an accurate count to get t-shirts ordered and meets organized.

(If you were on last year’s team and you’re not registering, and you’re sick of getting these emails, sit tight -- you’ll drop off soon. I just want to get everyone registered who was on board last year.)

Now: this is going to be a season unlike any other, so I’m going to ask for a lot of patience from you as we try to get everything worked out so that everyone can enjoy themselves. We have some extremely excited coaches, and we’ll do all we can to give your kids a safe, fun summer.

    Today, I’ll cover three items:

    1. DATES FOR BEGINNING: We will start practices on MONDAY, JUNE 22. Practices will be in the morning, between 8 and 11, with specific times yet to be determined once we know how many kids are in each age group. Current plans are three time slots, with time between to empty the pool of swimmers. Parents, please plan to drop your kids off if at all possible.

    2. MEET AND GREET: We’re going to do a coaches’ Meet and Greet on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 17 at 10:00 a.m. So that we don’t violate pool limits, swimmers with the last name A-L come from 10-10:30, swimmers with the last name M-Z come from 10:30-11. Introduce yourself and your kids to our coaches, and get to know them so that they can be ready to teach your kids.

    3. PARENTS’ ZOOM MEETING: I’m going to schedule a parents’ Q&A Zoom meeting on THURSDAY, JUNE 18 at 8:00 p.m. This is when I can give you more details about how practices will work (and meets, if they’ve given us that info by then) as well as hopefully answer questions you may have. If you can’t make that, I’m always available to answer questions, and I’ll record the meeting, too.

Thanks so much for putting your trust and faith in us. We’re looking forward to a great swim season, and we hope you are too!

    -Jay
