Hello Woodfield Waves families!

Yes, the weather is cold and nasty, but we’re already thinking about swim team. I’m writing well in advance of summer to give you plenty of notice about the 2023 season … and to see if you’d be willing to put in a little help getting this season’s team off the ground.

First, Coach Logan and the staff will be returning for another season! We closed 2022 with a big trophy, and Coach Logan wants to bring home an even bigger one in 2023. We’ll also be continuing the popular morning lessons for little swimmers – starting this year, they’ll be named the Ripples – and we’ll be preparing them for the big time all season long.

We have a crew of dedicated parents already working to get this season going, and we’ll be open for registration soon. You can see our tentative schedule at the site (https://woodfieldwaves.swimtopia.com/) – exact dates are TBD, but we’ll be starting practice in mid-May and swimming on Thursday nights throughout June.

Now, here’s what we need:

-Treasurer: Tara Murphy, our treasurer the last three years, is hanging up the calculator, so we need someone to handle the budget and money management. Previous accounting experience is welcome but not necessary. This is not a time-consuming task, but obviously, an important one.

-Volunteer jobs: Point people to oversee all the little aspects of swim team – Friday donuts, ribbons, meet management, concessions, county meet, etc. etc. Basically, if you don’t know what to do to help, let us know and we’ll get you assigned something. The tasks aren’t difficult or time-consuming at all, trust me – I’ve done all of them at one time or another.

Registration will be open soon. In the meantime, get excited for the season, hit us with any questions, and TELL YOUR FRIENDS! We want the team to grow every single year, and the best way to do that is word of mouth. Plus, for every family you bring in, you get one meet off from volunteering. Bring in five families, and you can kick back all season long.
