    Waves Week 2 update

Hello Woodfield Waves families! Congrats on a great Week 1! On to Week 2! In this email:

    • Thank-yous
    • Week 2 schedule
    • Upcoming time trial details
    • Volunteer sign-ups
    • Request of parents during lessons
    • Team suit info
    • Team t-shirt info

    Let's begin!

-First, I have to offer my sincere thanks to the team volunteers and coaches who stepped up last week when Coach Logan and I had to leave for a family issue. The first week of the season is most definitely NOT the best time for the head coach and team coordinator to be absent, but Addie George, Melissa Holman, Amanda Walsh and Stacey Bosch all stepped up, as did every one of the coaches. (If you've emailed me and haven't heard back, this is why. I'll be back with you all today!)

-Second, the schedule. This is the weirdest week of the season, schedule-wise. It runs like this:

    Monday-Wednesday:

    • 4:30pm – 5:00pm 6 & Under (Lessons)
    • 5:00pm – 5:45pm 7 & 8s and 9 & 10s
    • 5:45pm – 6:30pm 11 & Up

Thursday: No practice (last day of school for Fulton County)

Friday: First day of morning practice

    • 8:00am – 8:45am 7 & 8s and 9 & 10s
    • 9:00am – 9:30am 6 & Under (Lessons)
    • 9:30-9:45am – Break for cleanup, swimmer switchover, etc.
    • 9:45am – 10:45am 11 & Up

No practice on Memorial Day, and then next Tuesday we'll move forward with morning/afternoon times we'll use the rest of the season.

-Third, time trials are Wednesday. Here, we'll time your swimmers to get them seeded into the proper slots for the first meet. If you have any questions about how time trials work, please talk to me anytime or one of the coaches (before or after practice).

-Fourth, Volunteer signup is open for all meets now. Parents are required to be available to volunteer for all meets, and it's first-come, first-served for volunteer slots. Go to https://woodfieldwaves.swimtopia.com/meet-voluntee... for a definition of jobs and to sign up.

-Fifth, a request of parents: please be sure to give coaches enough room to work, especially with the Ripples. Parents, we know it's very tempting to be close to your little one, but the more distance you give our coaches, the better they're able to get the Ripples to focus on the lessons rather than you. Let us know if you have any concerns!

-Sixth, team suits. If you haven't already bought your swimsuit, go here for the details on how to purchase: https://woodfieldwaves.swimtopia.com/team-suits

-Seventh, team shirts. We're about to get our order in for the first round of team shirts (for those who registered prior to the start of the season). We're about to put in the second order; if you want a shirt, please order from the site no later than Tuesday evening: https://woodfieldwaves.swimtopia.com/shop

If you've read this far, congrats! Let me know if you have any questions, and see you at the pool!

    -Jay
