Haynes Landing Meet 

Meet 4 is approaching quickly. We will be swimming at Haynes Landing on Thursday night. Location: The address for the pool is 3400 New Heritage Dr. Johns Creek.

Parking:

Their parking lot will be used as bullpen space during the meet so it will not be open for parking. They ask that everyone please park on the street outside of the pool on the same side of the street as the pool. The other side will be marked with No Parking signs.

Bullpens:

They have let us know that our bullpens will be in the parking lot. I know this is everyone’s least favorite thing to see, but alas, we will make the best of it. They have recommended tents and folding chairs for the bullpens.

Concessions:

They offer a full concession stand including pulled pork, pulled chicken, hot dogs and buttered noodles as well as chips, candy and drinks. However they are cash only so be sure to bring some cash on Thursday night. 

Arrival and Warm-ups: 

Our arrival time is 4:30pm with a warm up time of 5:00pm. Please be sure you check-in with a coach/junior coach so they know we have everyone there.

Time Drops:
We were notified today that Haynes Landing utilizes the Time Drops electronic timing system. Many of you have heard about this system already, but as a quick overview, this is a digital timing system that connects to the starter and your “timers” have a small button on a lanyard and just like the stopwatch, they’ll press the button when the swimmer touches the wall. 2 buttons per lane and they get averaged automatically and transmitted to meet maestro. This will save paper around the pool deck and master recorder positions as well as judges recorder and only need place judges as a backup. You’ll see some slight changes in the volunteer needs to accommodate this. I, for one, am very excited to see this system in action as I’ve been researching it for quite a while now. I think it will be a great experience, but I wanted everyone to know so they weren’t surprised at the meet.

If you haven’t declared your swimmer(s) for both Haynes Landing and Martin’s Landing meets please get those in as soon as possible. The coaches will likely be working on the Haynes Landing lineup tomorrow. And Martin’s Landing is right behind.
