Sunday News
We had a great meet Thursday night! Even though it ran a little long and we didn’t win, we had a lot of fast races and many kids earned speeding tickets for individual best times. Congratulations to all of the swimmers! Also, a special thank you to all of the parents who helped get kids to the starting blocks for the first few races before the bull pen sheets were printed. It was not an ideal way to start a meet, but I appreciate everyone stepping up and helping!
Our meet this week is away at Glastonberry (3550 Pairpoint Place, Johns Creek 30022). I am sorry to say this is also a four lane pool, but hopefully they will be prepared to start on time and things will move more quickly that last week. If your child cannot swim on Thursday, please email me and Coach Grayson ASAP ([email protected] and [email protected]). As of right now I know the following kids cannot swim this week: Kai Laidhold, Hannah Schurman, The Sharps, The Halls, The Kostyniaks, The Vos.
Congratulations to this week’s Waves of the Week, Natalie Schulz and Justin Kufeldt. The coaches chose them for their hard work and positive attitudes at practice and during the meet. We are very proud of them!
Thank you to Brian Gore for taking such fun pictures again at last week’s meet. You can view them here: https://goo.gl/photos/oNd6ZASWDrghxcxLA
Stay tuned for information about the end of season ASA Divisional meet at Georgia Tech on June 30. This is an optional event and it is held at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center. Each child can choose two events to swim and if they have a qualifying timeon the 30th, they can compete in the finals on July 1. More information coming soon!
Each year we honor our veteran swimmers with a special towel. We acknowledge swimmers who have been on the team for 5, 10 or 15 years. According to our records, the following swimmers will receive their towel this year. Please let me know if you think we have made a mistake or if you want your child’s name written a different way than I have listed.
Anna Almstedt (5 year)
Colton Klepacz (5 year)
Ali Di Lenardo (5 year)
Hannah Schurman (5 year)
Chloe Schurman (5 year)
Costas Vastis (5 year)
I have had three people approach me saying they would be willing to serve on a committee to organize the team next year. I am so happy people are willing to step up and keep this special team running. It would be good to have a few more people to help. Please think about it, encourage your friends and come talk to me about it!
See you at the pool!
Sara
