ASA fees go up on Sunday!
Hello Woodfield Waves Families,
The logo above will be this year’s t-shirt design! Isn’t it great? We are fully embracing our nickname of the “Woody Waves” this year. Thanks to Meredith Hegarty for working with the designer!
Just a reminder that if your child is joining the swim team this year, you will want to register before the end of the day Saturday, April 15. The fee for joining ASA (which all kids who will swim in a meet must join) goes up from $24 to $35 as of Sunday. When you register for our team on www.woodfieldwaves.com, you will also register for ASA. You do not need to go to a different site.
Our “Registration Day” is tomorrow, April 15 from 12:00-2:00 PM at the Woodfield Clubhouse. (We need to think of a different name for this, as it is much preferred you do your actual registration at home on your own computer.) Nevertheless, please stop by between 12-2 to drop off your check, say hi to the coaches, ask any questions, pick up some FREE vintage Woodfield Waves swag and get fitted for a team swim suit.
In addition to the team suits which will be for sale, I have a supply of new black swim suits that were previously used as “try on” suits for our team. They are brand new, with tags and have never been in the pool. I have a variety of sizes and will have them for sale tomorrow for $10 each. Please bring cash or a check if you would like to purchase one. They will be great for swim practice!
I’m still looking for some help this summer:
Brent and Megan Klein are the best and have agreed to purchase the snacks and drinks for the home meet concession stands! We need someone to help them sell during the two home meets (June 1 and 22) and also to coordinate the “meal” portion of the concessions. The past two years we have had a food truck at the meets, but you could also arrange pizza or something else. We are looking for someone to coordinate this aspect of concessions. The bonus for this job is you will not have any volunteer responsibilities at away meets.
I am also looking for someone to handle the volunteer schedule at the meets. This is a portion of my job that takes up a lot of time and as I’m looking for someone to replace me next season, it would be great if we had a different person handle this in the years to come. This is the perfect job for an organized, “spreadsheet” type person, as it is sort of like putting a big puzzle together every week. I would be happy to work closely with you the first few meets until you get the hang of it. Bonus of this job—you get to pick your own volunteer position each week!
Don’t forget to spread the word about our team to your friends and neighbors! The Woodfield Waves team is open to anyone in the community! We will be hosting a “New to swim team orientation” on May 14. This will be open to swimmers ages 7 and up who are new to the team or just interested in what it means to be on the team. The time and more details about this will be out soon.
As always, let me know if you have any questions,
Sara
