Hello Woodfield Waves Families,
The last few weeks of school are upon us and it is just a few weeks until our first swim practice on May 15! Please take note of a few reminders:
Don’t forget to spread the word about our team to your friends and neighbors! The Woodfield Waves team is open to anyone in the community!
The ASA fees go up on Saturday, April 15! The fees are currently $24 per child and will increase to $35 per child after April 15. You automatically pay for the ASA fee when you register on our website, so I recommend registering now!
Our in-person registration day is this Saturday, April 15 at the Woodfield Clubhouse from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. You can complete your entire registration online, but come to the clubhouse to drop off your check, say hi to the coaches, get fitted for a team suit and pick up a schedule of our important dates.
Team swim suits will be the same design as last summer, but if you need to purchase a new one the girls’ suits are $45 and boys’ suits are $34. There will be a representative from All American Swim at the clubhouse on Saturday with a supply of team suits. If they do not have the size you need or you can’t make it on Saturday, you can visit their store near Roswell High School. The address is on the team website under “Swim Suits.”
Speaking of swim suits, I thought I would try to help facilitate a swim suit swap/sale for those kids who have out grown suits that are still in good condition. The easiest way I could think to do this is via Facebook. There is a Woodfield Waves Facebook page that you can join and post a picture of the suit you want to sell, the size and the price. Then you can work out a time and place to swap that works for both people. If you are not on Facebook, maybe you have a friend who is who can help you if you need it. Look for “Woodfield Waves Swim Team” on Facebook to join the group. Please keep in mind, this is an old group set up a few years ago and I do not keep it updated. All updated and current information regarding our team is always on the team website: www.woodfieldwaves.com.
As I mentioned in an earlier email, this will be my last year as the team representative, so please let me know if you have an interest in shadowing me this summer to take over in 2018. It would be great to have someone in place sooner rather than later so you can learn the ropes!
I am also looking for volunteers for this summer for the following roles. Email me if you are interested in helping!
Volunteer Needs:
We need someone to help sell concessions during the home meets and to also handle the scheduling of the food truck for the home meets (June 1 and 22). Bonus for this job—you do not have to volunteer in any way at the three away meets!
We need someone to pick up doughnuts, juice and coffee on the days after our meets in June for our Fun Friday practices. You will be reimbursed for the cost of everything. Doughnuts should be at the pool at 8:30 AM.
Lastly, I need someone to be the “Keeper of the Ribbon Box.” This would be your volunteer job for all of the meets (home and away). You would bring all of the ribbon making materials (ribbons and sticky labels) to each meet, would work with a few other people during the meet to stick the stickers on the ribbons and bring the ribbon box to the pool each Friday after a meet so kids can get their ribbons.
