Swim Season Delay (again) - Day by Day
I know how frustrating this is for parents making plans and please know it is frustrating for us behind the scenes as well, but we have to delay first dive again and are sort of on a day-by-day basis at the moment with the pool.
Please know that we are working on multiple options and potential make-up opportunities and all sorts of things behind the scenes to try to make the best of this.
Stay tuned for more information coming quickly as we solidify at least one of several options we are working on behind the scenes. For now, we hope to be in the water in some capacity tomorrow (Thursday). We know this is frustrating and we ask for your patience as we navigate this hurdle to the start of the season.
For those who would like to know the nitty gritty, and I know we have a few parents who do, a part in the pool pump broke during the final pre-season maintenance. The part was ordered and expected to be in last Friday and we would have inspection on Monday just in time for the original first dive, but the part arrived missing screws/bolts. It has led to a whole ordeal as they've tried to track down the screws/bolts. They've finally shipped those, but we do not have tracking on that. Obviously final inspection cannot be scheduled until that part is in. Those that have been by the pool have seen there is a submergible pump in the pool, which is working hard to keep the pool in balance in the interim so we won't have to start all over and levels are holding. The pool management feels that we should be able to pass inspection quickly after the part arrives, but we are just in holding until the part gets there. We are exploring several options with other area pools as a back up option if we need more time (after consulting with ASA) as well as exploring the ability to add some make-up practices for these missing days. Lots of options in various stages, but nothing is close enough to solid that we feel we can communicate it quite yet.
