Meet 2 Information
Meet 2 information! I can’t believe how fast this season is going already. Meet 2 is Thursday (June 5th).
Location/Opponent:
This one is a HOME MEET! Vs. Chartwell Challengers.
Parking:
Keep in mind that parking is always at a premium at swim meets (everywhere). If you live close enough to walk, it might be to your advantage or consider carpooling. We will ask that when parking on the street, you park on only one side of the street and obey any no parking signs that are placed.
Marking Swimmers:
We will ask again that you mark the right shoulder blade of your swimmers 10 and under (maybe even older). This helped tremendously at the blocks.
Concessions:
Our concessions crew has a great lineup planned again this week including pulled chicken, pizza, noodles, assorted snacks, drinks, candy, etc. We will once again accept cash or card/tap. Be sure to stop by the clubhouse steps and support our team during the meet. They also have shoutouts available!
Schedule:
3:45 - Coaches, Junior Coaches, and set-up volunteers arrive
4:15 - All Swimmers arrive ready (come earlier if you need marked, etc)
4:30 - Woodfield Warm-up
4:45 - Woodfield Volunteer Check-in (if not already)
5:15 - Timers, recorders, judges, ref, coaches meeting
5:30 - Meet Start
*all swimmers should Check in with a coach on their way in. 10 and under swimmers, check in with your bullpen parent as well.
Volunteers:
As everyone has seen, swim meets are very much all hands on deck. If you have not already signed up for a volunteer slot, you may get assigned to an empty one. Watch for an email from Melissa Holman, our volunteer coordinator. Be sure to check-in at the swim meet for your volunteer shift with Melissa.
If you sign up for Timer/Recorder, Place Judge, or Recorder for either shift, plan to attend the timers/judges meeting at 5:15. This will take place at the red tent on the pool deck. It is helpful when we have as many there as possible even if they’re second shift.
Theme:
This week’s theme is Hawaiian/ Luau.
Weather:
At this moment, we cannot predict what the weather will do. Stay tuned. Make sure you check email and app notifications as these are the two best methods to reach the masses if things change. Let’s all hope for a dryer meet this week!
