Congratulations (and always notes)
Congratulations Woodfield Waves on our 2nd win of the season. It was a great meet. Woodfield won 454 to 268! Thank you to our swimmers swimming extra events or relays up or strokes they’re less comfortable with. There is a lot of behind the scenes in the lineup setup that greatly impacts the success of the meet! Coach Anna is rocking our line-ups to maximize potential points. We had many swimmers breaking personal bests this week. Our swimmers are putting in the work and improving week over week! Great job Woodfield Waves.
We also had 2 Woodfield Records broken last night!
Congratulations to Coach Tristan Ganson - who broke the 2013 record for the 13-14 Boys 50 Backstroke
Congratulations to Max Gricus who broke the 2024 record for the 15-18 Boys 50 Backstroke (which was a record also set by Max.)
Keep it up Woodfield Waves!
A few other notes:
- Registration is open for the Georgia Tech ASA Championship Meet on June 27th. This meet is hosted each year at Georgia Tech. We have been taking around a dozen swimmers for the last few years and would love to continue to grow our attendance. It is a pick your own individual events meet. Low volunteer requirement - usually 1 or 2 from our team that we can split up. The meet runs around 3.5 hours (at least that is the goal) so it isn’t like you’re committing to much longer than a normal swim meet. Register today - https://woodfieldwaves.swimtopia.com/shop
- Our Spirit Night at Whit’s was incredibly successful! Mark your calendar to join us at Chick-fil-a on June 16th for one more spirit night
- Next week we will have photos on Friday during Fun Friday - more information to come, but mark your calendars in the meantime. Thank you Angie Walton for photographing each season.
- Mark your calendar for Wednesday June 25th for our team banquet.
- Speaking of Banquet, we are looking to bring back a parent relay, if you would be willing/interested in participating in either a serious or silly parent relay, please let us know.
- As always, remember to declare your swimmers! I know we have quite a few out for vacations next week, so getting declarations in early will be extra helpful! It is also the last home meet, so if you’ve been on the fence about swimming a meet, this is a great one to try!
