    Meet 4 Information

Meet 4 information! I can’t believe how fast this season is going already!

    Location/Opponent:

This one is an away meet at Martin’s Landing. This is always a fun meet as many of the kids have friends on the opposing team. Their pool is located at 9205 Martin Rd, Roswell, GA 30076.

    Parking:

Keep in mind that parking is always at a premium at swim meets (everywhere). Just like we do, Martin’s Landing asks that when parking on the street, you park on only one side of the street and obey any no parking signs that are placed. Please avoid blocking driveways as well.

    Bullpens:

We will be located on the right hand side of the pool nearest to lane 6. Last time we swam at Martin’s Landing the kids were on the stones and hills. If you have a swimmer who has an allergy to bee or insect stings, please let us know so we can keep an extra eye. When we last swam there, we had a few kids get stung. Better to be prepared!

    Marking Swimmers:

We will ask again that you mark the right shoulder blade of your swimmers 10 and under (maybe even older). This helped tremendously at the blocks and given that we are in a different pool for the first time this season, it is helpful. Coaches will mark arms for events/heats/lanes/etc.

    Concessions:

Concessions will be available when the meet starts. ML accepts venmo and cash. Their menu includes: Pizza (Cheese and Pepperoni), Hot Dogs, Pasta Salad (this is vegetarian), Chips, Candy, Gatorade, soda, water

    Schedule:

4:00 - Coaches, Junior Coaches, etc. arrive at Martin’s Landing

    4:30 - Swimmers arrive

    5:00 - Woodfield Warm-up

5:15 - Timers, recorders, judges, ref, coaches meeting

    5:30 - Meet Start

*all swimmers should Check in with a coach on their way in. 10 and under swimmers, check in with your bullpen parent as well.

    Volunteers:

The good news is away meets take a few less hands than home meets. The bad news is we are going back to paper traditional meets which takes a few more hands than our electronic timing. If you have not already signed up for a volunteer slot, you may get assigned to an empty one. Be sure to check-in at the swim meet for your volunteer shift with Melissa.

If you sign up for Timer/Recorder, master recorder, or Place Judge for either shift, plan to attend the timers/judges meeting at 5:15.

    Theme:

This week’s theme we will redo our USA/Red, White, and Blue since the thunder last week.

    Weather:

At this moment, we cannot predict what the weather will do. Stay tuned. Make sure you check email and app notifications as these are the two best methods to reach the masses if things change. Let’s all hope for a dryer meet this week! They do have a small deck and meeting room if the weather gets bad, but otherwise, head to your cars and we will communicate through the app.
