Lots of Thank You's and Accolades

After a wonderful, yet hot, banquet last night, I want to share a few words of thanks as we begin to wind down the season - you’re not quite done with my emails yet but getting close.

    Our coaches

Our coaches really put in the work for a successful season. They teach technique, push swimmers to do better, run practices, set lineups, determine the areas our swimmers need to work ok, encourage them, and so much more. They deserve a world of thanks! This year we had sort of a different structure from the past based on availability and registrations and needs, but everyone stepped up and made it a great season.

    Coach Anna - Head coach

Coach Emily - Assistant Coach (evening practices & meets)

Coach Avery - Junior Coach (mostly worked 10 and under)

Coach Skylar - JuniorCoach (mostly worked 10 and under)

Coach Tristan - Junior Coach (mostly worked 10 and under)

Coach Rowan - Junior Coach (mostly worked with Ripples)

Coach Rory - Junior Coach (mostly worked with Ripples)

Thank you to all of our dedicated coaches for all the hard work this season!

As we talk about our coaches and their hard work, I want to emphasize 2 statistics about the team that showcase this work. This season, we added Speeding Tickets for personal improvements (non-relay). In the swimtopia system, it tracks these as improvements.

    • We had 291 personal speeding tickets/improvements this season. The swimmers do the work, but the coaches help push these kids to meet these goals week after week.

This next one focuses on our Ripples and the coaches that worked closely with these youngest swimmers. We began the season with 11 kids registered in our Ripples program. More than half - 6 in fact - swam in their first meet during this season. Congratulations Ripples and their coaches that gave them the confidence to take that first dive into a swim meet!

    Parent Volunteers:

As all who have participated in a swim meet have seen, it takes many hands to make swim meets run smoothly. Thank you to our families who stepped up throughout the season. Many filled their volunteer roles or tried something new this year and we have many families who went above and beyond their volunteer requirement to help us have such a successful season. So, Thank You to all who showed up and helped our meets run so smoothly.

    Concessions Crew:

While they aren’t technically part of our parent board, special thanks go out to Manndi Iovino and Kristin Pereyra who headed up a very successful concession stand as well as coordinated our 2 spirit nights this season! Despite some bad weather for all of our home meets, they hosted a wonderful concession stand and that funding helps support our team and helps us keep our registration fees down.

    Parent Board:

I cannot thank this group enough! Their work really begins earlier than many realize. We are typically beginning conversations no later than January for the summer season. Stacey Bosch, Melissa Holman, Alice Kudart, and Amanda Walsh.

This year, Melissa stepped up to be our volunteer coordinator. Every one of you has heard from her this season. Her role is truly a thankless job as often there is some pushback to volunteer or coordinate availability or try something new and Melissa navigated it all this year.

    Swimmers:

We had several age groups with limited swimmers who swam extra events or swam relays with younger swimmers to fill their groups. We had young swimmers who swam up in relays frequently. We had kids try a new stroke for a meet or their first IM. All done without a complaint. These can be stressful and difficult accomplishments and all of our swimmers took them in stride. We are so proud and appreciate all the encouragement that helped swimmers achieve and thrive this season.

To anyone else that I likely forgot, THANK YOU!
