    Home Meet Week!

We are heading into Home Meet Week! This is an exciting week! We have hosted summer meets obviously and we have hosted a tri-meet in summer 2024, but this will be our first fall meet experience with 5 teams at our pool on Saturday!

A few notes and details and all the information.

Location: We are home this week! Yay!

Warm-up Time: Our warm-up is later than we expected (see change in set-up time later) at 7:55am. Warm-up is 7:55-8:15 and we will have the whole pool.

Arrival Time: With our warm-up being early at 7:55, we need to have swimmers arrive by 7:40 to have time to get situated, checked in, and ready for warm-up. We will worry about marking arms after warming up since we have 2 sessions after us and time to get everyone caught up.

Parking: This is the same as usual. You know by now our parking lot is pretty small, but there is plenty of street parking. We will be asking, as usual, to only park on one side of the street. Since we are first warm-up, we should be there early and you have spots and are good, but if you have spectators coming later, some tips would also include using the upper lot at East Roswell Park.

Concessions: We will have donuts, coffee, chick-fil-a biscuits, fruit, and drinks available. We accept cash and cards/tap (through Square). Concessions will be located on the front porch of the clubhouse. The plan is to open concessions around 8:00 when our warm up is wrapping up and other teams are arriving and getting ready for warm up.

Bullpens: We are taking a note from Hampton Hall and will mark out some designated areas for each team. That seemed to work well last week. A reminder (especially since we have some non-summer families), no one is to set their chairs/observation behind the shallow end (or deep end but most don’t even try that with the blocks). This area gets very crowded when we have timers and recorders and during relays. This area should be kept clear for access to restrooms and general circulation around the pool deck. Chairs are great along the long sides of the pool. I know the shade of the deck is tempting, but if you prefer shade, backup on the grass instead of beside the pool instead of taking the shallow end. Thank you in advance!

Ready Area: We are going to run a ready area and we request as much as possible that swimmers under 13 come through this ready area to reduce the amount of people waiting behind the blocks in an already tight area. These will be marked with the white/tan tents and will be opposite the timing tent (red).

Set-up Help: Thank you for those who signed up to set-up. Since we got a slightly later warm-up time than we expected, we are going to move set-up back just a little bit from 6:30 start time to 6:45. So we should be all set up by arrival at 7:40. If you have extra hands that want to help at set-up, we welcome extra hands.

Volunteers: We still have quite a few volunteer spots to fill including timers. I did put everything as the full meet since this should be a faster meet. We have about 40% of the swimmers compared to the past 2 meets so it should run quicker. If you need to split the shift with someone, we can accommodate that as well. Just let me know and sign up with at least one name. Check out the Jobs available for the meet.

Declare: If you haven’t declared your swimmer(s) or you haven’t picked events, please get those in today. I will likely be bugging you today at practice if they’re not done so help me out and get those in.

Declare for NEXT week: I also need to start getting declarations for September 13th. This is considered the championship meet and takes place at Marist. It is now open for entries. We will need entries to be submitted a day or so earlier for this meet than a traditional meet. Please declare as soon as you know.
