Meet 4 Information
Meet 4: This meet is a tri-meet, meaning 3 teams swimming together at Woodfield! We’ve done this before but it has been 2 years.
Location/Opponent:
Home Meet @ Woodfield Pool! We are hosting Spring Ridge and Brookfield Country Club for a tri-meet!
Parking:
As you know, our parking lot is not huge and we always reserve a spot for the opposing coaches and the ASA Ref so that is 3 less spots in the lot. Additional parking will be along the road. Be respectful of neighbors' driveways and allow them enough room to get in/out and follow the no parking signs so that we are only on one side of the street. Or if you’re close enough, walk on over!
Bullpens:
As usual our bullpens and spectators will be on the side furthest from the tennis courts. We will also be moving the timing tent to this side of the pool so just be aware.
Seating:
Parents and spectators, be aware, we are shifting things slightly this week. We are moving the timing tent, ref, and place judges to our side of the pool to coordinate with the lifeguard stand being on our side of the pool as well. This will impact our seating slightly. Why are we doing this? Place judges, ref, and timing were all staring into the sun directly in the meet and the idea is to reduce some of the staring into the sun. Additionally, this will give more space on the other side for their being two teams on that side of the pool. We are trying it. If it doesn’t work, we will change it for next time, but I think this will help with some of the issues.
Another reminder on seating, no spectators can be set under the deck on the turn end of the pool. This area, while it has great shade, needs to be open for relays, coaches, timers for 25s, etc.
Marking Swimmers:
We will ask that you mark the right shoulder blade of your swimmers 10 and under (maybe even older) with their last name. This helps tremendously at the blocks when a timer can take a glance and ensure they have the correct kid. With 3 teams in the meet, it helps.
Concessions:
Our concession crew has been hard at work coming up with some fun additions to our lineup. We will have the usual buttered noodles, bbq sandwiches, and pizza along with miscellaneous snacks, candy, drinks, and treats. Stop by the concessions (on the landing to the clubhouse). They will accept cash and card/tap.

Volunteers:
It takes many hands for the organized chaos of swim meets. Thank you to everyone for jumping in so far this season. We still have a few slots so claim your spots today. If you have any issues arise, reach out to Melissa Holman.
If you sign up or are assigned Timer/Recorder, master recorder, or Place Judge for either shift, plan to attend the timers/judges meeting at 5:10.
Theme:
The theme this week will be Red, White, and Blue.
Weather:
At this moment, we cannot predict what the weather will do. It isn’t looking great, so lots of fingers crossed and prayers this week. Stay tuned. Make sure you check email and app notifications as these are the two best methods to reach the masses if things change. Let’s all hope for a dry meet!
Additional Notes:
As a reminder, we do use time drops at home. This lessens our need for roles like master recorder, but also changes our timers to being 2 per lane of different teams. We have assignments out to teams. Please be welcoming and help our visitors out. Some of them may not have used Time Drops before.
Come Cheer:
Please invite your neighbors and friends to come cheer on the waves. This is a great opportunity for our ripples who may not be ready for a meet to see what the excitement is about. Stop by and cheer on the Waves.
